Alpha 0.1.4: Edge Lines and Smooth Shading

AdaShape alpha 0.1.4 is out. Two visible changes and a handful of fixes that make the tool feel more solid.

Chess pieces in AdaShape showing smooth shading and edge lines

Edge line rendering

Mesh surfaces now show hard edges and silhouettes as clean lines. This makes it easier to read the shape of your model — especially where flat faces meet curved ones. Toggle edge visibility with the “Edges” checkbox in the Layers toolbar.

Smooth shading

Curved surfaces render with smooth shading instead of the faceted look from previous builds. A fillet now looks like a fillet, not a row of flat strips.

Fixes

  • Capsule radius widgets now appear correctly in all cases
  • Widget and edit point picking feels more natural
  • Camera orbit no longer jumps or reverses when viewing from top-down angles
  • Fixed an occasional crash when Alt+Tab while typing in numeric input fields (no data loss)
